Les marchés américains se redressent après la hausse des taux de la Fed : l'indice SMI progresse, la réglementation d'UBS est reportée

US futures are showing a slight recovery before the opening of the financial markets following the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) first rate increase in three years, of 25 basis points. Expectations of rising corporate profits and the Fed’s continued independent monetary policy have eased markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.3% to 52,120 points ahead of market opening, while the Nasdaq 100 increased 1.7% to 18,800 points. The Swiss market index, SMI, also showed a positive trend, rising 0.6% to 13,906.75 points. The Mid-Cap index, SMIM, increased by 0.96%, and the broader SPI, by 0.37%. The easing of the markets is mainly due to the Fed’s determination to fight inflation, with the central bank’s independence from political influence acting as a stabilising factor. Oil prices, which had fallen earlier, continue to show slight recovery trends, supported by hopes of the reopening of an important pipeline in Saudi Arabia, although with reservations regarding unexpected disruptions. This indirectly reduces inflationary concerns and leads to falling yields on US government bonds.
