The share price of Givaudan, a leading Swiss company in the field of fragrances and aromas, has experienced a significant upturn over the past trading week. With a rise of 6.8 percent to CHF 3,463, it reached its highest level in eleven weeks on Friday evening, thus exceeding all other titles in the Swiss Market Index (SMI) by 1.6 percent. The SMI itself recorded a moderate rise of 1.6 percent. This development follows a long-term period of weakness in which the share was largely ignored between July and September. Since its peak of CHF 4,670 two years ago, Givaudan has lost around 25 percent in value, making it an undervalued title in the SMI. Analysts have adjusted several price targets and valuations over the past week, which has contributed to the upward trend. Barclays raised its price target from CHF 3,300 to CHF 3,450, while maintaining its neutral rating. JPMorgan confirmed its overweight rating and raised its price target from CHF 3,600 to CHF 3,700. Citigroup maintained its neutral rating, but adjusted its price target from CHF 3,150 to CHF 3,450. The analysts are already looking at the first quarterly report for 2026 and expect positive developments in both business areas. JPMorgan increased its organic revenue growth forecast and estimates earnings per share (EPS) for 2026 at CHF 135.09 and for 2027 at CHF 141.81. This is in contrast to the forecasts of the Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB), which expects an EPS of CHF 109.90 for 2026 and an EPS of CHF 133.30 for 2027. Despite these positive signals, the share is already close to the average price target of CHF 3,458. Analyst ratings vary: nine experts recommend Givaudan for purchase, eleven hold the position neutral, and three recommend sale. However, these ratings are not final and could change at the next Investor Meeting of the week. In addition to Givaudan, other health and finance stocks also showed positive developments during the week: Galderma, Novartis, Lonza and Sandoz rose by 2.9 to 4.1 percent, while Swiss Re rose by 3.4 percent. In turn, Zurich Insurance, UBS and Partners Group lost between 2.2 and 2.4 percent in value.
