Swiss eye-care group Alcon has placed a €500 million bond maturing in 2033 with a coupon of 3.875%, the company said on Wednesday.
The debt is issued by Alcon Finance Corporation, a wholly owned financing subsidiary of Alcon. The securities will list on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange’s Euro MTF segment, according to the statement.
Settlement of the transaction is scheduled for September 2. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include partial or full refinancing of existing group liabilities.
The bond’s five-year tenor and 3.875% yield reflect current market conditions for investment-grade corporate issuers in the healthcare sector, based on prevailing benchmarks.
