Vienna Insurance Group reported a 21% increase in pre-tax profit for the first half of 2026, reaching EUR 641.5 million, compared with the same period a year earlier.
Insurance service revenue rose 7.1% to EUR 6.8 billion during the period, driven by expansion in core Central and Eastern European markets. The company's net combined ratio improved to 91.40%, while its solvency ratio stood at 272%.
Profit growth was supported by strong capital investment returns and a reduction in insurance claims. The figures reflect the first consolidation of NÜRNBERGER, Vienna Insurance's largest acquisition to date, following its completion during the semester. The deal will be fully integrated into Vienna Insurance's financial statements in 2026.
The insurer maintained its full-year 2026 pre-tax profit outlook between EUR 1.25 billion and EUR 1.30 billion, excluding NÜRNBERGER contributions. Vienna Insurance is also advancing an IT transformation initiative at NÜRNBERGER aimed at enhancing product and service offerings.
