Upbound Group Inc. (NASDAQ: UPBD), headquartered in Plano, Texas, announced two senior‑level appointments on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Scott Young was named chief operating officer, a newly created position. Young brings more than three decades of experience in consumer financial services, payments and fintech. He most recently served as senior vice president and global head of financial solutions for PayPal and Venmo, overseeing consumer, commercial and small‑business services across 11 countries. Earlier in his career he held senior roles at Goldman Sachs, Citi, Barclays, GE Capital and MBNA. In his new role, Young will coordinate strategic alignment and execution across Upbound’s operating units, which include Acima, Brigit and Rent‑A‑Center.

Dev Chakraborty was appointed senior vice president and head of Brigit. Chakraborty has over 20 years of operating leadership in fintech, credit cards, personal loans, marketplaces and data platforms. He most recently served as general manager of cards, mortgages and data partnerships at MoneyLion and previously led personal loans at Credit Karma. He will assume responsibility for Brigit’s overall performance and growth.

Brigit reported approximately $300 million in annual recurring revenue and a paying‑user base of about 1.8 million, according to the company. For context, the Credit Karma personal‑loans business generated roughly $700 million in annual revenue while Chakraborty was in charge. Upbound Group’s broader network comprises more than 2,300 company‑branded retail locations across the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Chief executive officer Fahmi Karam said the appointments bring the “exact type of operational leadership and collaborative mindset needed for the Company as we continue to grow and scale.”
