Swvl Holdings Corp (NASDAQ: SWVL) has launched a 24/7 shuttle service in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, operating on fixed routes between seven hotels and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi as well as other frequently visited sites in the city.
The service, announced under an agreement between Swvl and its client, uses the company's platform for route planning, real-time dispatching and operational optimization, according to company statements.
The launch comes months after Swvl said in July it was expanding into Saudi Arabia's banking sector through a partnership with Bank Albilad.
Madinah welcomed more than 10 million visitors in 2025, according to the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, underscoring the scale of demand in the city that draws millions of pilgrims annually.
Mostafa Kandil, Swvl's chief executive, called Madinah one of the highest-demand mobility markets in Saudi Arabia and said the launch reflects "the breadth of demand for technology-enabled transportation across essential, non-corporate sectors."
Ahmed Misbah, the company's chief financial officer, said the move demonstrates the platform's versatility beyond traditional enterprise and government verticals.
Swvl operates across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Kingdom and the United States. Its client base includes corporate customers, government institutions, schools and healthcare providers across those markets.
