Orbit Group Limited announced the appointment of Paul Edwards as a non-executive director on its Common Board, effective September 7.
Edwards currently serves as chief executive of Delta Housing and previously held the role of chief executive at Chelmer Housing Partnership. He also held senior director positions at Havebury Housing Partnership.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in the social housing sector. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a member of the National Housing Federation’s Finance Policy Advisory Group. He also contributed to the SORP Working Party on housing accounting.
His professional background spans strategic leadership and governance, financial planning and treasury management, regulatory compliance, business transformation, risk management, decarbonisation, and IT modernisation, the company said.
Stephen Jack, group chair, said Edwards’ appointment would strengthen the board’s governance and oversight capabilities. The hire is intended to support Orbit as it pursues goals outlined in its 2030 strategy.
