Cohen & Steers, Inc. (NYSE: CNS) reported assets under management of $101 billion as of Aug. 31, down from $102.5 billion at the end of July, the investment manager said in a press release issued Sept. 9.
Total AUM declined by $1.5 billion over the month, driven by market depreciation of $1.9 billion and distributions of $155 million. Net inflows of $528 million partially offset the decline.
Among investment vehicle categories, open-end funds recorded net inflows of $430 million, while institutional accounts saw net inflows of $98 million. Closed-end funds recorded no net flows during August.
Institutional advisory accounts totaled $23 billion, down from $23.6 billion in July, while subadvisory accounts fell to $15.7 billion from $16 billion. Open-end funds decreased to $49.7 billion from $50.1 billion, and closed-end funds dropped to $12.6 billion from $12.8 billion.
