VIAVI Solutions Inc. said its aerospace unit in Chandler, Arizona, completed Level 2 of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework. The assessment was performed by third-party evaluator A-LIGN, a certified C3PAO.
The certification applies to VIAVI’s radio test, avionics, synthetic and modular, and Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) product lines. The company stated it intends to extend the CMMC Level 2 credential to the Inertial Labs product lines it acquired in 2025.
CMMC, developed by the U.S. Department of Defense, is designed to ensure that contractors adequately protect Controlled Unclassified Information on Defense Industrial Base systems and networks; compliance is mandatory for firms doing business with the DoD.
VIAVI Solutions provides test and measurement and optical technologies for data centers, communication networks, and sectors including military, aerospace, railway and first‑responder communications. Doug Russell, senior vice president and general manager of aerospace and defense at VIAVI, commented that the achievement reflects the company’s dedication to safeguarding sensitive information that underpins national security and reinforces its role as a trusted partner to the U.S. Defense Industrial Base.
