Spain’s IBEX 35 index advanced 0.69% at Monday’s close, with advancing stocks outnumbering decliners by 109 to 76. The gains were led by consumer services, financial services and telecommunications and IT sectors.
International Consolidated Airlines Group led the advancers, rising 2.41% to close at €5.05, while Caixabank gained 2.20% to €13.27 and Endesa added 1.67% to €41.92.
Repsol was the top decliner, falling 3.36% to €27.05, followed by Merlin Properties with a 1.63% drop to €13.87 and Indra Sistemas down 1.17% to €60.56.
Commodities showed mixed performance, with gold futures for December delivery up 0.69% to $4,712.71 per troy ounce. WTI crude for October delivery fell 2.47% to $84.91 per barrel, while Brent crude for November delivery declined 2.18% to $90.65 per barrel.
The euro held steady against the dollar, with EUR/USD flat at 1.17, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged at 0.86. The U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.18% to 98.91.
