Rubrik Inc. is set to release its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Thursday after the market close, with investors closely monitoring the Palo Alto-based cyber resilience company's financial trajectory amid a recent stock surge.
Shares of Rubrik have climbed roughly 50% over the past three months, approaching record highs, and were trading at $96.13 on Thursday. Analysts project an 11% upside to a mean price target of $107.11, while the company trades at roughly 11 to 13 times forward sales. The stock's rally follows a 46% revenue increase in the most recent quarter and sustained gross profit margins above 80%.
Earnings expectations for the quarter ended July 31 point to a loss of 37 cents per share, a sharp decline from the prior quarter's 16-cent profit—a figure that exceeded expectations by more than 130%. Despite the sequential drop, EPS estimates have risen 8% over the past two months, while revenue estimates have remained broadly stable. Analysts anticipate annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth above 32%, consistent with the prior quarter's performance.
Rubrik's Identity Resilience business reached over $50 million in ARR last quarter and is on track to potentially exceed $100 million by year-end. Goldman Sachs estimates an upside of $18 million to $20 million may be required to justify the recent rally. The company's Agent Cloud and data protection portfolios continue to gain market recognition, including a leadership position in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for Backup and Data Protection Platforms.
A recent personnel shift saw roughly 30 sales and marketing professionals depart to join competitor Cursor, raising questions about go-to-market execution. However, Scotiabank noted that 100% of surveyed partners were at or above plan. Rubrik also announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft to integrate threat detection capabilities, reinforcing its focus on cyber resilience.
Founded in 2009 and listed in April 2024, Rubrik has expanded its market presence through a combination of organic growth and strategic initiatives, positioning itself as a key player in the data protection and recovery sector.
