Raytheon, an RTX business, has completed a $50 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Forest, Mississippi, increasing total production space to 445,000 square feet. The project marks the third major expansion at the site over the past decade, following prior additions in 2013 and 2020.
The expansion adds 17,000 square feet to the facility, which serves as a production, testing and integration hub for electronic warfare and radar systems. Key programs include Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band pods for the U.S. Navy and Australian government, as well as other airborne radar systems. RTX reported 2025 sales exceeding $88 billion.
The company expects the expansion to support the creation of 100 jobs by 2028, adding to RTX’s global workforce of over 180,000 employees. Raytheon has operated in Forest for 40 years, with the Mississippi site now totaling 445,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
Barbara Borgonovi, President of Naval Power at Raytheon, said the completion underscores the company’s long-term commitment to Forest and Mississippi. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves highlighted the expansion as an investment in national security and a source of high-skill jobs for the region. U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, noted the project modernizes military capabilities while creating employment opportunities.
