Poland’s Orlen expects to complete the acquisition of Grupa Azoty’s Polimery Police chemicals plant in the near term, its CEO Ireneusz Fafara said on Thursday.
The planned transaction has faced scrutiny after a report raised the possibility of a legal dispute that could jeopardize the deal. Grupa Azoty’s shares fell as much as 5.2% following the report, pressuring the company’s valuation ahead of potential negotiations.
The Polimery Police facility is a key chemicals manufacturing plant owned by Grupa Azoty, a major Polish chemicals producer. Orlen, a diversified energy group, has signaled confidence in resolving any outstanding issues to finalize the acquisition promptly.
