Five Below Inc. shares jumped 6% in extended trading after the discount retailer reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 results that exceeded analyst expectations and raised its full-year guidance.
The company posted adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.68, well above the consensus estimate of about $1.33. Net sales totaled $1.26 billion, topping the market forecast of roughly $1.21 billion. Comparable sales increased 14.1% during the quarter, marking the fifth consecutive period of double-digit growth.
Five Below also revised its full-year fiscal 2026 outlook. Net sales guidance was lifted to a range of $5.63 billion to $5.71 billion, up from the prior forecast of $5.40 billion to $5.48 billion. Adjusted diluted EPS guidance was raised to between $9.83 and $10.31, compared with the previous range of $8.65 to $9.05.
In addition to the financial results, the board authorized a new $600 million share repurchase program. The company also reported its store footprint expanded to 2,022 locations across 46 states, an 8.8% increase year over year.
Analyst Jefferies maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $350 price target ahead of the earnings release. Five Below's after-hours surge was driven primarily by company-specific factors rather than broader market conditions, as U.S. equities ended the regular session near flat amid elevated oil prices and rising bond yields.
