Patrick Hugh Conway, chief executive officer of Optum, sold 1,169 ordinary shares of UnitedHealth Group Inc. for $455,910 on August 21, 2026, according to a regulatory filing published August 25.
The sale occurred at $390 per share, below UnitedHealth’s closing price of $396.59 on August 21. The stock has gained 42% over the prior six months. Following the transaction, Conway retains direct ownership of 15,327.797 UnitedHealth shares.
UnitedHealth reported adjusted earnings per share of $6.38 and revenue of $112 billion in the second quarter of 2026, both exceeding analyst expectations. The company’s market capitalization stands at $356.6 billion.
Analysts have raised price targets for UnitedHealth in recent weeks. Bernstein SocGen Group increased its target to $512, while Mizuho raised its estimate to $493. BofA Securities also set a new target of $512, and UBS lifted its price target to $490, citing strength in Medicare Advantage and Optum Health operations.
