Marsh McLennan announced that its People and Investments business unit, currently operating under the Mercer brand, will transition to the Marsh name effective September 1. The move is part of a broader consolidation under the Marsh brand, which Marsh McLennan first disclosed in October 2025.
The People and Investments unit, which has operated in Switzerland since 1959, advises corporate clients on investment objectives, workforce transformation, and employee health and retirement benefits. Marsh McLennan describes itself as a global leader in risk, reinsurance, capital, people and investments, and management consulting, with over 95,000 employees across 130 countries and annual revenue exceeding $27 billion.
Pat Tomlinson, president and CEO of People and Investments, stated that the unified Marsh brand builds on Mercer’s expertise in health and benefits, investments, retirement planning, workforce and compensation while enabling broader impact for clients, employees and communities. Achim Lüder, CEO of Marsh for Germany, Northern, Central and Eastern Europe and interim CEO of Marsh People and Investments in Switzerland, added that the consolidation will strengthen support for Swiss clients amid increasingly complex needs and provide enhanced access to Marsh’s global capabilities.
Marsh has been headquartered in Zurich’s Löwenstrasse since 2024. The company’s shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker MMC.
