A subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks has secured a $14 million contract to deploy fiber-optic broadband infrastructure in Peru.
The agreement, announced on Wednesday, covers the construction and deployment of high-speed broadband networks across designated regions in the country. Financial terms were not disclosed beyond the $14 million contract value.
Gilat, an Israel-based communications provider, stated the project aligns with Peru’s national broadband expansion initiatives to enhance digital connectivity. The subsidiary’s role includes network design, installation, and operational support.
Peru’s government has prioritized broadband access as part of broader economic development and digital inclusion strategies. The contract follows recent tenders aimed at modernizing the country’s telecommunications infrastructure.
Gilat’s shares were not immediately impacted by the announcement, with trading activity remaining within recent ranges. The company did not provide additional details on project timelines or regional scope.
