Roku Inc. shares jumped 7% to a fresh 52-week high on Tuesday after the streaming platform reported stronger-than-expected advertising revenue growth for the latest quarter.
The company’s stock reached $68.50 in early trading, marking its highest level since May 2023. Roku’s ad business has shown resilience despite broader economic headwinds, with advertising revenue rising 15% year-over-year in the second quarter, exceeding analyst estimates.
Analysts at Wedbush raised their price target on Roku to $75 from $60, citing the company’s improving monetization and expanding user base. However, some investors remain cautious, questioning whether the stock has already priced in much of its growth potential.
Roku’s performance contrasts with broader market volatility, as tech stocks navigate shifting consumer spending patterns and advertising market dynamics. The company’s shift toward higher-margin ad-supported streaming services has supported revenue growth, though competition in the streaming space remains intense.
The stock’s rally comes amid a broader rebound in ad-tech shares, with investors closely watching upcoming earnings reports from peers to gauge sector-wide trends. Roku’s next earnings release is scheduled for October 30.
While the surge reflects optimism about Roku’s advertising business, some analysts warn that elevated valuation metrics may limit further upside without sustained revenue acceleration.
