Vector Ltd said on Friday it had secured a 10-year manufacturing agreement with LyoGenesis Inc to produce lyophilized formulations for the latter's cystic fibrosis treatment pipeline.
The contract covers commercial-scale production of drug products using LyoGenesis's proprietary lyophilization platform, which aims to stabilize cystic fibrosis therapies for extended shelf life. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Vector, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), will provide end-to-end services including formulation, fill-finish, and packaging under the agreement. The deal extends over a decade, aligning with LyoGenesis's development timeline for its lead candidate, LG469.
Shares of Vector rose 3.2% in early trading following the announcement, though the company did not provide specific guidance on revenue impact. Analysts noted the agreement could bolster Vector's position in the growing orphan drug CDMO market.
LyoGenesis is developing a lyophilized version of its cystic fibrosis treatment, designed to improve patient accessibility by eliminating the need for cold-chain storage. The platform has shown promise in preclinical studies, according to the company.
The manufacturing partnership underscores the strategic importance of CDMOs in accelerating drug development timelines for rare disease treatments.
