Deutsche Bank AG’s shares advanced 3.5% in pre-open trading on Tuesday, reaching $40.40 and nearing its 52-week high of $40.43.
The gain followed the formal launch of a €500 million share repurchase program, approved by the European Central Bank and authorized by the bank’s annual general meeting in May 2026. The program began on August 25, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude no later than December 11, 2026. All repurchased shares will be canceled.
The lender also highlighted a new artificial intelligence collaboration with Google Cloud, which unveiled its Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services platform on the same day. Deutsche Bank was named a key design partner for the platform’s Financial Research agent, with plans to deploy the tool initially in its corporate banking division to enhance client acquisition and service optimization.
Deutsche Bank reported a record post-tax profit of €1.9 billion for the second quarter of 2026, underscoring its improving financial position. The broader U.S. equity market showed little movement in pre-market trading, with the S&P 500 essentially flat, the Dow Jones unchanged, and the Nasdaq marginally lower.
