Colombia's equities closed higher on Monday, with the COLCAP index rising 2.09% to a six-month peak. The advance was driven by gains in the Industrials, Services and Agriculture sectors, according to market data.
Grupo Argos SA Pref led the advancers, climbing 3.90% to 16,000.00, a gain of 600.00 points. Grupo Cibest SA added 3.25%, or 2,880.00 points, to close at 91,400.00. Mineros SA rose 1.82%, or 320.00 points, to 17,900.00.
Cementos Argos SA was among the biggest decliners, falling 2.41% to 10,540.00. Etb dropped 2.05% to 71.50, while Ecopetrol SA shed 1.67% to 2,650.00.
Commodities showed mixed performance. U.S. coffee futures for December delivery surged 5.94% to $341.80 per pound, while cocoa futures fell 1.74% to $5,929.00 per ton. Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.63% to $4,709.90 per troy ounce. The USD/COP exchange rate held steady at 3,067.61, and the BRL/COP rate was unchanged at 595.56. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were up 0.19% at 98.92.
