Collective Metals Inc. announced the appointment of Curtis Riou to its board of directors, effective Tuesday. Riou brings more than 25 years of experience in environmental consulting and resource development across Canada's oil, gas and mining sectors. He currently serves as chief operating officer of Apex Exploration and is a co‑founder of X‑Terra Environmental Services Ltd., a First Nation‑owned environmental consulting firm.
Ram Kumar, chief executive officer of Collective Metals, said Riou’s background in resource development and environmental management will strengthen the board as the company evaluates its exploration priorities and opportunities.
The Rocas project, which Riou’s expertise will support, covers 4,002 hectares located about 75 kilometres southwest of the Key Lake Mine and Mill facilities along Highway 914, roughly 72 kilometres south of the Athabasca Basin margin. The property hosts several uranium showings, including historical mineralized outcrop grab samples along approximately 900 metres of strike length grading up to 0.5 wt.% U3O8. Collective Metals noted it remains an exploration‑stage company and has not declared any mineral reserves on its properties.
