Champion Homes Inc. announced the appointment of Michael Haack as an independent director to its board, effective Aug. 24. The addition brings the board to seven members, six of whom are independent, and Haack will serve on the Compensation Committee.
Haack currently serves as President and CEO of Eagle Materials Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of heavy construction products and light building materials. Since joining Eagle Materials in 2019, he has overseen acquisitions totaling more than $1.6 billion. His prior experience includes over 17 years at Halliburton, where he held senior roles in manufacturing, supply chain, and global operations, including a position as Global Operations Manager for Sperry Drilling, overseeing more than 8,000 employees.
Champion Homes operates 46 manufacturing facilities across the United States and western Canada, employing approximately 9,200 people. The company produces prefabricated and modular homes, accessory dwelling units, park models, and modular buildings for residential, multi-family, and hospitality sectors.
Michael Berman, Chairman of Champion Homes' board, stated that Haack brings extensive experience in leading complex industrial organizations. Haack holds an MBA from Rice University, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He also serves on the board of Terra CO2 and is involved with advisory organizations linked to MIT and Texas A&M University.
