SMI commence par des mises à jour des objectifs et une chute du franc

The Swiss Market Index (SMI) opened with a slight price increase of 0.5 percent, as reported by IG Bank. At the same time, Swiss stocks are receiving new price targets and valuations from various analysts. Roche is up 0.25 percent, while the Swiss currency is weakening slightly against the US dollar, due to the US interest rate decision. The Swiss franc rate falls to 0.8256 francs per dollar, due to the increased attractiveness of the US dollar, supported by higher yields on US government bonds. The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 0.25 percentage points, which further lowered yields on longer-term US government bonds and calmed the bond markets, while the dollar gained value. The Fed also signalled another interest rate hike for the current year, which weighs on market sentiment for riskier assets such as stocks. Oil prices for Brent and WTI fall again slightly, to 105.60 and 102.19 dollars per barrel, after reports of alternative sources of supply from Saudi Arabia and a possible de-escalation of the Iran conflict should ease concerns about supply shortages. The price of gold, on the other hand, increases by 1 percent to 20,500 dollars per ounce, due to the uncertainties in the commodity market and the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. The US interest rate increase has also influenced Asian stock markets: the Nikkei 225 is up or down slightly, while the Shanghai Composite falls by 0.3 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial lost 1.21 percent, the S&P 500 0.45 percent, while the Nasdaq 100 increased marginally. The shares of Intel, AMD and Marvell Technology are up, while JB Hunt and Boeing come under pressure. The Swiss mid-cap stocks Helvetia Baloise and Swissquote benefit from price gains of over 1.8 percent, while Rieter and Ypsomed suffer from revaluations: Rieter loses 6.8 percent, Ypsomed 1.7 percent. Roche receives a price target of 410 francs from Vontobel, which is only slightly above the current price of 405 francs, while the rating remains Buy. Rieter is valued by UBS at Sell with a price target of 2 francs, while Burkhalter lowers the price target for the ZKB from 151 to 137.70 francs. Schindler receives a price target of 320 francs for its participation certificates from Octavian, which is only slightly above the current price of 310 francs, and the rating is raised from Hold to Buy. Ypsomed is valued by Stifel at Hold with a price target of 380 francs, representing a downward revision. The Swiss stock market is set for a friendly start, while the reporting season is slowly coming to an end and important economic data such as foreign trade and watch exports for August are expected. In addition, the Federal Council is consulting on the Banking Act on UBS, which could affect the stability of the financial system. The first interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve in over three years has influenced the markets, with the central bank showing a clear determination to combat inflation. The US economy remains under surveillance, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence, where demand for semiconductors and computing power continues to grow, while companies such as Boeing and JB Hunt face new challenges.
