Quantum X Labs Appoints Former Mossad Chief Cohen to Science Advisory Board

Quantum X Labs Inc. (NASDAQ: QXL) appointed Yossi Cohen as president of its Scientific Advisory Board, the company said, bringing a former head of Israel's Mossad and national security apparatus into its quantum-technology push.

Cohen served as director of the Mossad from 2016 to 2021 and as Israel's national security advisor from 2013 to 2016. In August 2026, he was also named a strategic advisor to SoftBank.

Cohen will work alongside board members Prof. Oren Kurland of the Technion—Israel Institute of Technology and Prof. Oren Raz of the Weizmann Institute of Science to guide the company's efforts in quantum computing, quantum error correction, quantum software, quantum cybersecurity and quantum sensing, with emphasis on defense and critical-infrastructure markets.

"We appointed him because Quantum X Labs is developing a range of unique capabilities—including quantum sensing for navigation and timing, a quantum error-correction decoder and quantum cybersecurity—that will be tested in the real world, not only in the laboratory," said Yaki Baranes, co-chief executive officer of Quantum X Labs.

Cohen, in a statement, said he selected Quantum X Labs after evaluating several firms across the deep-tech and quantum landscape. "I found a rare combination of exceptional human capital and significant technological potential," he said.

Quantum X Labs develops a neutral-atom quantum computing platform, an AI-driven quantum error-correction architecture, a quantum-based gyroscope chip for navigation in GPS-denied environments, atomic clocks for precision timing and initiatives spanning quantum cybersecurity, nuclear simulations and life sciences. The company's operations extend across quantum technology, digital advertising, computing and enterprise artificial-intelligence solutions.
