Investec buys shares for employee incentive plans

Investec acquired 900,000 of its own ordinary shares on the open market last week to satisfy obligations under its Share Incentive Plans 2021, the company disclosed.

Investec plc — incorporated in England and Wales and listed on the London Stock Exchange and JSE under tickers INVP and INP — bought 600,000 shares across three trading sessions. On Thursday it purchased 200,000 shares at £6.6665 each, totaling £1,333,314. On Sunday it acquired another 200,000 shares at £6.6755 apiece for £1,335,119, and on Monday it bought 200,000 shares at £6.7767, spending £1,355,346.

Separately, Investec Limited — incorporated in South Africa and listed on the JSE under ticker INL — acquired 300,000 shares on Monday at ZAR 143.3138 per share, for a total value of ZAR 42,994,140. Investec Bank Limited served as sponsor for both sets of transactions.

The acquisitions were made under prior clearance and disclosed in compliance with paragraphs 6.78 to 6.90 of the JSE Listings Requirements, which govern indirect beneficial on-market acquisitions undertaken to fulfill obligations to plan participants. Both entities also filed notifications with the London Stock Exchange and JSE Limited under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules and relevant Listing Rules.
