The Verband Schweizerischer Vermögensverwalter (VSV) announced that Abdullah Mohammed will become a Member of Executive Management and Head of German‑Speaking Switzerland effective 12 October 2026. Based in Zurich, Mohammed replaces Oliver Maas in the role.
Mohammed arrives from Vanguard, where he served since 2020 as a Sales Executive in the Swiss Business‑Development team. In that capacity he worked with private‑wealth managers, multi‑family offices and regional banks across the German‑speaking part of Switzerland. He is also known for co‑creating the VSV‑ASG Investment Pulse, an annual survey conducted jointly by VSV, Vanguard and the Hochschule Luzern. The latest edition highlighted a pronounced home‑bias among independent asset managers and growing fatigue around ESG themes.
Before joining Vanguard, Mohammed managed fund‑sales for Flossbach von Storch’s wholesale business in Switzerland. His career began at Morningstar, where he held various marketing and specialist‑sales positions for the EMEA region.
In his new VSV role, Mohammed is tasked with expanding the association’s activities in German‑speaking Switzerland, deepening engagement with members and partners, and strengthening the presence and networking of the VSV in the region. The appointment comes amid a broader personnel refresh: earlier this year Vivien Jain succeeded Patrick Dorner as VSV’s managing director. The association, which marks its 40th anniversary in 2026, says the Swiss asset‑management sector is returning to growth after several years of decline.
