NextNav Inc. (NASDAQ: NN) announced Tuesday the appointments of two senior executives as it steps up efforts to broaden engagement with policymakers, government agencies, network operators and technology partners.
Marissa Mitrovich joins as Vice President of Government Affairs, where she will lead the company's strategy and outreach to Capitol Hill and the administration. Mitrovich brings more than 20 years of experience in government affairs and strategic advocacy, and was named to The Hill's Top Lobbyists list in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Her prior roles span the Fiber Broadband Association, Frontier Communications, Verizon, Wireless Infrastructure Association and Charter Communications.
Vijay Venkateswaran takes on the role of Chief Business Development Officer, responsible for steering the company's business and technology ecosystem development, strategic partnerships and go-to-market initiatives. Venkateswaran has over 25 years of experience in corporate strategy, product innovation and business development across telecommunications, information technology and electric power utility sectors. His background includes tenures at Accenture, Viventum Incorporated — where he spent a decade providing strategic advisory services — Anterix and GE Ventures, as well as positions at Verizon and Verizon Wireless.
Mariam Sorond, NextNav's chief executive officer and board chair, said the two new hires bring "the experience, judgment, and leadership we need as NextNav enters its next stage of growth."
NextNav describes itself as a provider of positioning, navigation and timing solutions and holds spectrum licenses designated for terrestrial positioning services.
