Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (NYSE: VSH) advanced 3.3% on Thursday after unveiling a new series of flyback transformers designed for power applications.
The company introduced the Vishay Dale IFBT series, a 17-device lineup of customizable, surface-mount flyback transformers engineered for flyback converter topologies. The series targets isolated power designs, including Power over Ethernet systems and isolated DC/DC converters rated up to 30 W.
Technical specifications detail an input voltage range of 26 V to 72 V at 250 kHz, with isolation rated at 1,500 VRMS for 60 seconds between primary, bias, and secondary windings. Output voltages span 1.8 V to 24 V, supported by multiple windings for series or parallel configurations, while output currents range from 0.5 A to 9.0 A. Inductance values vary between 35.0 µH and 75.0 µH, and the devices operate across temperatures from -40 °C to +125 °C.
The transformers are designed for applications including automotive LED driver systems, energy generation and distribution, industrial automation, home and building controls, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and medical instrumentation. Vishay noted the open construction allows for winding modifications to meet specific customer requirements, and the RoHS-compliant units are available in production quantities with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks.
