Valora announced on Monday that it is transferring the operation and replenishment of its kiosk vending machines in Switzerland to Boostbar, a Zurich-based food and beverage vending provider. Boostbar will also provide the software and user interface for the machines, with the goal of modernising the interface to make it simpler and more intuitive for customers.
The first step involves retrofitting existing machines with Boostbar’s technology, followed by the deployment of new machines equipped with the system. Valora says the change will enhance product availability, machine readiness and operational efficiency, and that there will be no job cuts as a result of the partnership. A Valora spokesperson noted that the arrangement lets the company focus more on its core business, retaining responsibility for assortment design and promotions.
Looking ahead, Valora sees expansion potential, particularly at fuel stations, and plans to work with partner Volenergy, which operates BP, Ruedi Rüssel and Miniprix sites, to install additional machines. The company currently operates several hundred vending machines, mainly located beside its K Kiosk and Avec stores, offering snacks, drinks and select non‑food items such as condoms and pregnancy tests.
