Natural gas futures for October delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 0.35% to $2.83 per million British thermal units during the U.S. session on Tuesday.
The contract found support at $2.739 and faced resistance at $2.891, according to market data. The advance occurred as the U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.08% to 98.85, tracking the greenback’s performance against a basket of six major currencies.
In broader Nymex commodities, October crude oil futures declined 3.36% to $82.15 per barrel, while September heating oil futures slipped 0.51% to $4.25 per gallon.
