Russia’s petroleum production fell 19.3% year-on-year in July, according to data released by Rosstat, the country’s statistics agency. The decline follows a 21.7% drop in June and reflects ongoing disruptions to refining capacity amid Ukrainian drone attacks on key facilities.
Output increased 5.6% compared with June, though the monthly gain did little to offset the broader year-on-year decline. For the first seven months of the year, petroleum output was down 9.2% compared with the same period in 2025, Rosstat reported.
The statistics agency did not disclose absolute production volumes in its latest release. The decline in fuel output has been attributed to sustained attacks on Russian oil refineries, which have constrained processing capacity and contributed to the sustained reduction in available petroleum products.
