Synairgen Limited said on Tuesday it will convene a shareholder meeting on September 8, 2026, to consider placing the company into Members' Voluntary Liquidation.
The Southampton-based biotechnology company, registered in England and Wales, confirmed that both Synairgen Limited and its wholly owned subsidiary Synairgen Research Limited remain solvent. The board made that determination at a meeting held on Wednesday.
Synairgen’s sole asset is SNG001, an inhaled interferon beta treatment currently in clinical development. The company has previously outlined plans for an orderly wind-down of operations, with a prior shareholder update issued on July 31, 2026.
In a letter to shareholders dated August 20, 2026, Executive Chairman Mark Parry-Billings and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Colliver said the proposed liquidation aims to maximize value for stakeholders while concluding the company’s operations in a controlled manner.
