Novartis will unveil data from 10 abstracts at the 2026 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, underscoring its leadership in cardiovascular therapeutics. The presentations span approved and investigational therapies, including analyses of bleeding risks, lipid-lowering strategies and inflammatory targets.
Late-breaking Phase IV VICTORION-CHALLENGE data will compare Leqvio (inclisiran) with bempedoic acid in achieving LDL cholesterol goals among high-risk patients, with results scheduled for August 31 at 08:15 CEST in Tripoli Hall B1. Additional Leqvio-focused findings from the VICTORION-Difference trial will explore its role in reducing the need for therapy escalation to meet LDL-C targets, presented as an ePoster on August 29.
Analyses of abelacimab, an anticoagulant under investigation for atrial fibrillation, will detail its impact on total bleeding events versus rivaroxaban, based on the AZALEA-TIMI 71 trial. The data, set for an oral presentation on August 29 at 09:30 CEST, aim to further characterize the therapy's safety profile.
Novartis will also present strategies to accelerate Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] testing across Europe through the Lp(a)CCELERATE initiative, developed in partnership with the European Atherosclerosis Society. The findings, shared as an ePoster on August 29, seek to address persistent gaps in guideline-recommended Lp(a) screening.
Further abstracts will cover Entresto's efficacy in heart failure patients with Chagas disease, as well as pacibekitug, an investigational IL-6 ligand monoclonal antibody targeting inflammation in chronic kidney disease with high cardiovascular risk. The latter will be highlighted in a Hot Line session on August 29 at 08:45 CEST.
Ruchira Glaser, M.D., Global Head of Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Development at Novartis, emphasized the company's commitment to advancing cardiovascular science for patients with unmet needs. "Our portfolio reflects a focus on addressing persistent challenges in cardiovascular care," Glaser stated.
The presentations will take place at the ESC Congress in Munich, running from August 29 to September 1, 2026.
