Orlen’s chief executive said the company expects to finalize an agreement to acquire the Polimery Police chemical plant from Grupa Azoty in the near term, despite a recent market reaction.
Grupa Azoty’s shares dropped 5.2% on Thursday after a report suggested a legal dispute could threaten the transaction. The Warsaw-listed chemical producer operates the Polimery Police unit, a manufacturing facility in northern Poland.
Orlen CEO Ireneusz Fafara stated that the company remains confident the deal will proceed as planned. No further details on timing or valuation were disclosed. The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory and legal conditions.
