Nestlé will invest R$2 billion in its nutrition and health division in Brazil through 2028, with R$600 million earmarked for a new infant formula factory in Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais. The facility will be constructed adjacent to Nestlé’s largest dairy complex in Latin America, which already produces powdered milk brands Ninho and Molico.
The new plant aims to meet domestic demand, currently partially supplied through imports, while positioning the company to explore export opportunities in the future. The R$2 billion investment represents approximately 30% of Nestlé’s projected R$7 billion spending in Brazil between 2025 and 2028.
Marcelo Melchior, CEO of Nestlé Brazil, highlighted the strategic importance of the nutrition and health segment, stating it is among the company’s four global growth priorities. "The division includes some of the company’s highest-value-added categories," Melchior said. The investment underscores Nestlé’s focus on expanding high-margin product lines in the Brazilian market.
