Morningstar Inc. and PitchBook have joined Google Cloud as launch partners for its Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services platform, integrating their respective datasets via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
The collaboration will embed Morningstar’s public market investment research and PitchBook’s private market intelligence—covering companies, investors, funds, and transactions—into the AI-powered tool. Users will receive responses with source attribution, maintaining transparency in data origins, according to the companies.
The integration is designed to enhance efficiency for eligible subscribers, including individual users with MCP access and enterprise clients with licensed agreements. Morningstar reported approximately $375 billion in assets under management and advisement as of June 30, 2026, while PitchBook serves over 100,000 clients globally with a workforce exceeding 3,000 employees.
Seth Sprinkle, Global Head of AI Platform Strategy and Partnerships at Morningstar, stated the partnership aims to provide investors with more efficient access to independent research while preserving source transparency. Tom Van Buskirk, Executive Vice President of Technology and Engineering at PitchBook, highlighted the ability to address complex queries using combined intelligence from both firms.
The integrations are scheduled for release in the coming months, pending availability to eligible subscribers.
