McGee Air Services, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group (NYSE: ALK), named Ben Reed president effective Oct. 1, following a six-month interim stint that began in March 2026.
Reed, a 17-year Alaska Air Group veteran, joins McGee after roles spanning safety, compliance and operations within the parent company. He first joined Alaska Airlines in 2009 and subsequently held positions at both Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air before returning to Alaska in 2016 as one of McGee's founding leaders. From 2016 to 2017 he served as managing director of safety and compliance, followed by a move to managing director of operations for the Seattle station from 2017 to 2020. He returned to the safety-and-compliance role from 2020 to 2025, then relocated back to Seattle as managing director of operations from November 2025 through March 2026, when he assumed the interim presidency.
Jason Berry, Alaska Airlines chief operating officer and chair of the McGee board, said in a statement that Reed "brings deep operational experience, strong relationships across Alaska Air Group and a clear commitment to McGee's people."
Reed will oversee more than 3,200 McGee employees providing ground services at six airports.
