Employees at KOMO 4, the Seattle-based television station owned by Sinclair Inc., voted to end their representation by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
The vote follows a petition filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in July to decertify the union. Once the NLRB process concludes, SAG-AFTRA will no longer serve as the exclusive bargaining representative for the unit, which includes on-air staff, anchors, and reporters.
Sinclair confirmed the decision in a statement, noting that the outcome reflects the working relationship between the company and its employees. The move comes as Sinclair operates 178 television stations across 79 markets nationwide.
