JinkoSolar Holding Co. announced the appointment of Wei Du as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately, as part of a leadership transition at the New York-listed solar manufacturer.
Xiande Li, who served as CEO since 2021, will step down from the executive role and transition to chairman of the board, chairman of the compensation committee, and chairman of the nomination and corporate governance committee. The company stated that Li’s departure was not due to any disagreement with management or the board.
Wei Du, previously vice president of strategic investments since April 2026 and general manager of strategic investments from December 2021 to March 2026, will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations, strategic execution, and capital allocation. Li will retain oversight of long-term strategy, board governance, and key corporate decisions.
Du brings a finance background to the role, holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Bristol and a master’s degree in finance from Imperial College London. Prior to joining JinkoSolar, he served as executive general manager of investor relations at Shanghai Yuyuan Tourist Mart (Group) Co. from October 2018 to January 2021.
As of June 30, 2026, JinkoSolar operates more than 10 production facilities globally and maintains over 20 overseas subsidiaries, supplying solar products and solutions to utility, commercial, and residential customers across multiple markets.
