Greek equities ended lower on Tuesday, with the Athens General Composite declining 0.24% as declines in telecoms, household goods and basic resources outweighed gains in banking and energy stocks.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers by a margin of 75 to 37 on the Athens Stock Exchange, with 21 stocks unchanged at the close. The composite index ended at 1,055.42 points, down from the prior session's close.
Optima Bank SA led gainers, rising 2.73% to 11.28, marking an all-time high. Helleniq Energy Holdings SA added 2.67% to 15.00, reaching a five-year peak. Euronext Athens Holding SA climbed 1.77% to 8.03 in late trade.
Among the worst performers, Avax SA fell 4.35% to 3.41, while Viohalco SA declined 3.46% to 17.30. Alpha Bank SA dropped 3.12% to 4.53.
Commodities showed mixed performance, with gold futures for December delivery down 0.68% at $4,443.09 per troy ounce. Crude oil for October delivery rose 0.30% to $83.99 per barrel, while Brent crude for October remained flat at $90.87.
The euro held steady against the dollar, with EUR/USD unchanged at 1.16. The U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.07% to 99.46.
