Conduit Holdings Limited said on Monday it appointed Mark Pickering as its next chief financial officer, effective Nov. 30, 2026, as Elaine Whelan retires from the role and board on Sept. 30, 2026.
Pickering, currently group CFO and treasurer at Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, will oversee capital management, financial reporting and the investment portfolio at Conduit Re’s parent company. The Bermuda-based reinsurer, listed on the London Stock Exchange under ticker LSE:CRE, said the appointment reflects its strategy to strengthen financial leadership amid global market conditions.
Pickering brings 11 years of reinsurance experience from Aspen, where he held roles including CEO of Aspen Bermuda Limited and group chief capital management officer. His tenure included the company’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2025 and its subsequent acquisition by Sompo Holdings in February 2026, transactions completed shortly before his departure.
Prior to Aspen, Pickering held senior positions at Platinum Underwriters and Marsh McLennan. He holds credentials as a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional Accountant and Associate in Reinsurance.
Conduit CEO Neil Eckert said Pickering’s appointment aligns with the company’s focus on global reinsurance expertise and financial discipline, adding that his background positions him to support Conduit’s growth plans.
