Google has expanded its Gemini Live voice assistant with productivity-focused tools designed to streamline task management, email handling and daily planning through voice commands.
The updates introduce four core features: Personal Intelligence, Daily Brief, Spark and hands-free inbox management. Spark enables users to create multi-step tasks using natural language, with the system capable of executing workflows that span days or weeks. The tool operates across Google Docs, Sheets, Drive and the web, and can transform unstructured voice notes into structured outlines in Google Docs or generate weekly meal plans with automated grocery lists.
Daily Brief delivers a spoken summary of tasks, emails and calendar events when prompted with a voice query such as "What's my daily brief?" The feature aggregates key updates from Gmail and Calendar without requiring screen interaction, providing an audio digest of pending actions and scheduled commitments.
Hands-free inbox management allows users to search, summarize, star, archive or delete Gmail messages using voice commands. Queries like "Any new emails?" or "Summarize my inbox" trigger automated responses, enabling users to process correspondence without manual input.
Personal Intelligence enhances Gemini Live’s contextual understanding by retaining past conversations and linking information across Google applications including Gmail, Photos, Search and YouTube. Users must explicitly enable app connections within the Gemini Personal Intelligence settings to activate this capability. The feature is accessible via the Live icon inside the Gemini app on supported devices.
