Goldera Resources Inc. said on Monday it has appointed former IAMGOLD Corp. director Andrew Wray to its board, strengthening its governance as the gold-focused explorer advances its projects.
Wray, who previously served on IAMGOLD's board from 2018 to 2023, brings more than three decades of experience in mining and corporate leadership, according to the company. His appointment follows Goldera's recent strategic initiatives to expand its asset base and operational capabilities in gold-rich regions.
The addition comes as Goldera navigates a consolidating gold market, where junior explorers increasingly seek experienced leadership to enhance shareholder value. Wray's prior roles included oversight of corporate strategy and risk management at IAMGOLD, which operates mines in West Africa, South America and Canada.
Goldera, listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker GLD, did not disclose further details about Wray's responsibilities or compensation. The company's shares were unchanged in early trading on Monday.
A spokesperson for Goldera declined to comment beyond the announcement.
