Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN) launched its Genius World event in Las Vegas on Monday, highlighting its Genius point-of-sale platform through a four-day showcase running through August 27. The event featured a simulated Main Street environment with operational storefronts, including a wine shop, café, restaurant, stadium concession, drive-thru, and food truck, to demonstrate the technology in real-world settings.
The Genius product lineup includes a handheld edge AI device, modular countertop solutions, kiosks, digital menu boards, and integrated drive-thru systems combining hardware, software, and payment processing. Nearly 50 sessions covered commerce trends, AI applications, product updates, and business strategies, with attendance from clients, resellers, financial institutions, and agent banks.
David Rumph, president of SMB for Global Payments, said the showcase underscores how the company integrates software, hardware, and payments to help businesses operate more efficiently. The event will be followed by a Genius Road Trip tour with over 40 stops across the U.S., including Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Orlando, to bring product demonstrations to client partner locations. During the tour, select local merchants will receive a Genius in Action award.
Global Payments processes payments in more than 175 countries. The event also featured appearances by former basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and chef Roy Choi.
