Five Below shares rose 6.2% in pre-market trading after the discount retailer reported fiscal second-quarter results that exceeded expectations and raised its full-year guidance.
The company posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.68, surpassing the consensus estimate of approximately $1.33. Net sales increased 22.9% year-over-year to $1.26 billion, topping the Street’s forecast of roughly $1.21 billion. Comparable sales climbed 14.1%, marking the fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, driven by higher customer traffic and transaction volume rather than increased average ticket prices.
Five Below also raised its full-year fiscal 2026 net sales guidance to a range of $5.63 billion to $5.71 billion. The company lifted its full-year adjusted diluted EPS outlook to $9.83–$10.31. Additionally, the board authorized a new $600 million share repurchase program.
Analysts responded positively to the results. Deutsche Bank raised its price target on Five Below stock to $334 from $318, while Jefferies maintained a Buy rating with a $350 target. The stock’s pre-market surge pushed it toward the upper end of its 52-week range of $137.77 to $263.88.
The broader market showed modest gains, with the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq each up about 0.2%. Five Below’s performance reflected company-specific catalysts rather than broader market movements.
