FIS introduced an embedded banking platform designed to integrate banking services directly into the corporate software used by business clients of U.S. banks. The platform, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2026, allows banks to offer accounts, card issuance, accounts receivable and payable, and expense management capabilities within existing business tools.
The solution supports multiple deployment methods, including APIs, SDKs, embeddable widgets, and white-label applications, enabling banks to partner with vertical software providers or fintechs to embed banking features into partner products. Accounts opened through the platform remain on the bank’s balance sheet, ensuring customer ownership and regulatory control under traditional banking models.
Three U.S. banks—Cogent Bank, Commercial Bank of California, and M&T Bank—will participate in a pilot program to test the platform ahead of its commercial launch. Jon Briggs, Global Head of Embedded Solutions and Money Movement at FIS, emphasized the demand for integrated banking services within business software. "Clients want banking services embedded in the software they use daily to manage their operations," Briggs stated. "This platform lets banks meet that demand while maintaining their central role in the customer relationship, regulatory oversight, and ownership of customer data."
