Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) launched an embedded banking platform on Thursday, enabling U.S. banks to offer core financial services directly within business software used by corporate clients.
The platform, designed for accounts, card issuance, receivables, payables, and expense management, can be deployed through APIs, software development kits, embeddable widgets, or white-labeled applications. Accounts are held on the bank’s balance sheet, preserving regulatory control and customer ownership.
Banks partner with vertical software providers or fintechs under the model, where the bank retains the customer relationship while the software partner manages the user experience. FIS provides the underlying infrastructure for the service.
Three banks—Cogent Bank, Commercial Bank of California, and M&T Bank—will pilot the platform, with accounts and payments functionality slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2026. Jon Briggs, Global Head of Embedded Solutions and Money Movement at FIS, stated that corporate clients increasingly expect banking features integrated into their daily operational tools, adding that the platform allows banks to meet this demand while maintaining traditional regulatory oversight.
FIS, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: FIS), is a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 member.
