Evercore has hired senior bankers Jean Stack and John Song from Robert W. Baird & Co. as part of a push to expand its aerospace, defense and government services coverage.
Both will join Evercore as senior managing directors, with the pair expected to start in the coming months. Their current roles at Baird focus on defense and government services banking, a sector Evercore aims to strengthen as part of a broader expansion in sponsors and middle-market coverage.
The hires follow Evercore’s strategy to grow its investment banking footprint in defense and related government services, areas where demand for advisory and capital-raising services has increased. The bank has signaled plans to bolster its presence in the Washington area, where defense contractors and government agencies are concentrated.
Evercore is also considering opening a new office in Virginia to support the expanded coverage. The moves remain subject to finalization, with timing and staffing adjustments still possible.
Stack and Song bring specialized expertise in defense and government services, aligning with Evercore’s push to diversify its advisory business beyond traditional corporate finance roles.
