Denmark’s OMX Copenhagen 20 index closed 0.94% lower on Thursday as losses in chemicals, healthcare and financials outweighed gains in other sectors.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancers by 63 to 56 on the Copenhagen exchange, with 20 issues unchanged. The index’s decline followed broader European equity weakness amid mixed corporate earnings and macroeconomic signals.
Vestas Wind Systems led gainers, rising 4.28% to 216.70 DKK after reporting stronger-than-expected demand for its offshore wind projects. NKT Holding added 1.42% to 930.00 DKK, while Pandora climbed 1.33% to 841.00 DKK.
Top decliners included Novo Nordisk, which fell 3.18% to 295.30 DKK, pressured by profit-taking after recent gains. Logistics group DSV Panalpina dropped 1.71% to 1,351.50 DKK, and brewer Carlsberg slipped 0.92% to 881.60 DKK.
Commodities showed limited movement, with October WTI crude up 0.21% at $82.40 per barrel and November Brent crude rising 0.54% to $87.41. December gold futures fell 0.14% to $4,646.89 per troy ounce. The USD/DKK exchange rate held steady at 6.42, while EUR/DKK remained flat at 7.48.
